Reduce Points dialog box

This dialog box lets you smooth an object's appearance by eliminating some of its anchors.

Objects produced by tracing bitmaps sometimes have an undesirably large number of anchors. By reducing the number of anchors in a traced object, you often can improve the object's appearance. Reducing the number of anchors in an object also can improve its printing speed.

Original

Shows an image and the number of the current number of anchor points in the object.

Reduced

Show a preview and the number of points the will have if you accept the settings.

Points

Decreases the number of points in the object as you drag to the left or increases as you drag to the right (up to the original number of points).

Tension

Decreases or increases the number of points relative to the current setting of the Points slider.
